Terms of Service
Last updated: 17 October 2026
Please read these Terms carefully before using Mojoboto. They explain what the Service does, what happens to your data, including what is sent to our artificial intelligence provider, and your rights under European and French data protection law.
1. Acceptance of these Terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Mojoboto (the “Service”), published by the company identified in Section 2. By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Terms of Sale, which apply whenever you purchase Credits.
If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not create an account or use the Service.
2. Publisher Identification (Legal Notice)

3. Description of the Service
Mojoboto is a job-search and career-management platform that lets you generate resumes and cover letters from configurable templates, build a professional profile, prepare for job interviews, and follow the job offers that match your searches.
Some features can be used without an account. A visitor can generate a resume and a cover letter by typing their details into the generation form: those details are sent to our servers only to render the document, which is returned at once, and neither the details nor the document are stored or sent to our AI provider. The anonymised resume, the profile picture, the document history, the Job Analysis and every AI-assisted feature require an account. The number of documents generated from one connection may be limited to prevent abuse.
Certain features use artificial intelligence, offered when you turn on the AI mode switch: populating your profile from a free-text biography or an uploaded resume, translating a profile, writing a resume or a cover letter for a job offer, and the tailored interview analysis. Section 7 explains exactly what this involves and what is sent to our AI provider. The Job Analysis does not use AI: it is computed on our servers from your profile.
A company can open a corporate account to recruit: once we have checked and approved the company, it publishes job offers for free, which are shown to the job seekers whose searches they match, and it sees the job seekers who chose to be visible to companies and whose job searches match its offers or applicant searches. A company's account has no profile and generates no resume. An approved company has a public page showing its name, website, sector, industry, head office, description and open job offers.
Job seekers and companies can also talk to each other in an inbox: a company can ask to get in touch with a job seeker it was matched with, and a job seeker can ask to talk to a company from one of its published offers. Each side sees a short summary of the other before accepting, and messages are encrypted end to end (Section 12).
Some features consume Credits, a virtual unit described in Section 6 and, when purchased, governed by our Terms of Sale.
4. Access to the Service and Eligibility
You must be at least 15 years old to create an account, in line with the minimum age set by French law for consenting to the processing of personal data. If you are under 18, you may only purchase Credits under our Terms of Sale with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
You agree to provide accurate, current information when registering and to keep it up to date. You are responsible for keeping access to the email address you sign in with secure, since sign-in codes are sent there, and for keeping your two-factor authentication codes confidential and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at support@mojoboto.com if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
5. Acceptable Use
When using the Service, you agree not to:
- Submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, fraudulent, or infringes a third party's intellectual property or personal data rights;
- Attempt to access another user's account or data, or probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service;
- Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access the Service outside of any interface we knowingly provide for that purpose;
- Use the Service to generate content intended to deceive an employer or third party (e.g. fabricated qualifications). The Service is a drafting and formatting aid, and you remain solely responsible for the accuracy of your professional information;
- If you hold a corporate account: give true information about your company; publish only real job offers that comply with the law, in particular without discriminating on grounds such as age, sex, origin, family situation, disability or any other ground the law prohibits; and use a job seeker's profile only to contact them about the job offer or search they were matched with — never copy it into another file, share it, or use it for any other purpose.
- Use the inbox to send unsolicited advertising, to harass anyone, or for anything other than a job. The person you write to can decline your request or end the conversation at any time, and you can report abuse to us at support@mojoboto.com; since we cannot read messages, a report is examined on what you show us.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit access to the Service without our prior written consent.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach this Section, after notice where circumstances reasonably allow.
6. Credits System
New accounts start with a balance of zero Credits. Certain actions consume Credits, deducted at the moment the action is performed. They are AI-assisted biography extraction, AI-assisted resume import, AI translation of a profile, targeted resume tailoring against a job posting, AI-written cover letters and the tailored interview analysis. The number of Credits each action costs is shown in the interface before you confirm it.
Generating a resume, writing a cover letter from our template, saving your own templates and the Job Analysis are free. An account keeps up to 2 free resumes and 2 free cover letters at a time (a Scout account, 2 of each per job seeker and 10 of each in total); beyond that, a free document is still generated and downloaded, but not kept until you delete one. Documents kept in your history are permanently deleted after 30 days.
Additional Credits can be purchased as described on the Purchase Credits page; such purchases are governed by our Terms of Sale, including the refund conditions described there. Credits have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money except as provided in the Terms of Sale, and are strictly personal to your account (non-transferable to another user).
7. Artificial Intelligence Features and Data Sent to Third Parties
This section highlights, as clearly as we can, what happens to your data when you use an AI-assisted feature.
When you use an AI-assisted feature, namely the biography-to-profile tool, AI-assisted resume import, AI translation of a profile, targeted resume tailoring against a job posting, an AI-written cover letter, or the tailored interview analysis, the content you submit is transmitted over an encrypted connection to our artificial intelligence processing provider, Anthropic, PBC (United States), acting as our data processor within the meaning of Article 28 of the GDPR, solely for the purpose you requested: extracting structured profile information, rewriting your professional content, drafting a cover letter, or suggesting answers to interview questions, for your review. Nothing a visitor without an account types is sent to it.
- What is sent: the text relevant to the feature you triggered, namely your biography text, the text extracted from an uploaded resume, the job description you paste for a targeted resume, a cover letter or a profile analysis (for a cover letter, possibly just its link), and the profile content needed to tailor the result (for a profile analysis, without your name or contact details), together with the minimum contextual instructions necessary to perform the operation. We do not send your account password, payment details, or Credit balance.
- What is not done automatically: the result is a suggestion, shown to you for review, and profile extractions are saved only once you confirm them. No decision producing legal effects on you is taken automatically by the AI.
- Accuracy: AI can make mistakes. Every result may contain errors, omissions or inaccurate wording, so check it before relying on it, and in particular before sending anything to a recruiter. You remain responsible for the content you submit to third parties.
- Purpose limitation: the data is processed solely to perform the operation you requested and is not used by us or, under our data processing agreement, by our AI provider to train general-purpose AI models.
- Location and international transfer: our AI provider is established in the United States, so this processing involves a transfer of personal data outside the European Economic Area. That transfer is governed by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, incorporated into our data processing agreement with the provider. You may request a copy of the relevant safeguard by contacting us at support@mojoboto.com.
- Retention by the provider: processed strictly for the duration necessary to return the result to us, in accordance with our data processing agreement with the provider.
If a future feature relies on a different third-party AI or data-processing provider, or involves a transfer to a new country, we will update this section and, where required, seek your consent before enabling that feature for you.
8. Job Listings Aggregation
The job search feature retrieves listings from an aggregation service operated by us or on our behalf. To return relevant results, search parameters you enter (such as job title, keywords, or location) are transmitted to that service; this does not include your name, contact details, or other profile data unless you explicitly include them in a search.
Job offers published by approved companies on Mojoboto are matched against job seekers' job searches in the same way, and shown with "Mojoboto" as their source; among offers of equal relevance, they are shown first. Each links to its page on Mojoboto, where the company says how to apply.
9. Intellectual Property
You retain all rights to the content you submit (biography, experience descriptions, uploaded documents). You grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, process, and display that content solely to operate the Service for you, including generating resume documents you request.
The Service itself, including its software, resume templates, visual design, and trademarks, is our property or that of our licensors and is protected by intellectual property law. No licence is granted to you over these elements beyond what is strictly necessary to use the Service as intended.
10. Availability, Modifications and Suspension
We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may suspend access for maintenance, security, or legal reasons, and may modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice where practicable.
11. Liability
The Service, including AI-assisted suggestions, is provided as a drafting and organisational aid. We do not guarantee that generated content is error-free, complete, or fit for a specific application, and you remain responsible for reviewing and validating any document before use.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, our liability for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service is excluded. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under French law, including liability for gross negligence, wilful misconduct, death, or personal injury.
12. Personal Data Protection
This Section provides the information required by Articles 13 and 14 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable French law (Loi Informatique et Libertés), as enforced by the Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés (CNIL).
Data Controller
Nessim B., 12 avenue du Lathan, 49490 Noyant-Villages, France, is the data controller for personal data processed through the Service. You can reach our data protection contact at support@mojoboto.com.
What we process, why, and on what legal basis
- Account and profile data (name, email, professional information you enter, and a profile picture if you upload one), to provide the Service, on the basis of performance of the contract formed by these Terms;
- Visibility to companies, if you switch it on in your settings (it is off until you do): the profile behind each job search a company's offer or applicant search matches — name, profession, experience, education, skills, languages, certifications, projects, awards, hobbies, and the email address, phone number and address written in that profile — is shown to that company, so that it can contact you about the job. Your age, profile picture, biography and documents are never shown. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by switching the option off; from then on no company sees your profile. For a Scout account, the Scout gives this consent on behalf of the job seekers it manages and must have their agreement. We keep the date you gave it.
- Company details submitted by a corporate account (company name, website, country, registration number, description, and the account's email address), to check that the company exists before approving it — its name, website, country, description, sector, industry and head office also form its public page —, on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping fraudulent recruiters away from job seekers;
- Contact requests and messages between companies and job seekers, if you use the inbox: messages are encrypted in your browser, with keys only you and the person you write to hold, before they reach us; we store them encrypted and cannot read them. We process who asked to talk to whom, about which offer or search, the answer, and when messages were sent, to deliver them and to tell you by email that something is waiting (the email never contains a message), on the basis of performance of the contract. When you ask a company to talk, or accept its request, that company sees your profile as described under visibility to companies, whether or not you switched visibility on;
- Two-factor authentication data (an encrypted authentication secret and single-use recovery codes), if you enable that option, to secure access to your account, on the basis of performance of the contract;
- Biography text, resume files, and job descriptions you submit for AI-assisted features, to provide those features, on the basis of performance of the contract (you actively trigger the feature);
- Details a visitor without an account types into the resume or cover letter form, to generate the document they request, on the basis of the steps they ask us to take (performance of a contract); they are processed in memory only and not stored. The IP address of the request is kept in our security logs, on the basis of our legitimate interest in preventing abuse;
- Technical and connection data (login timestamps, IP address for security logging), to secure the Service and prevent fraud, on the basis of our legitimate interest;
- Audience-measurement data (pages visited, time of visit, browser and device type, screen size, referring page, and your IP address anonymised to its first two bytes before it is stored), to understand how the Service is used and improve it, on the basis of our legitimate interest. No cookie is set, and this data is never linked to your account;
- Billing and order data, when you purchase Credits, to perform the sale and to comply with our accounting and tax obligations, on the basis of performance of the contract and legal obligation;
- Support correspondence, to respond to your requests, on the basis of our legitimate interest or performance of the contract.
Recipients of your data
Beyond our own staff acting under confidentiality obligations, your data may be shared, strictly as necessary, with:
- Anthropic, PBC (United States), which processes the content you submit for AI-assisted features, as described in Section 7;
- OVHcloud SAS, our hosting provider, which hosts the infrastructure underlying the Service, stores the documents it generates, and sends our transactional emails (sign-in codes, notifications), in France;
- Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. (Ireland), which processes payment for Credit purchases, as described in our Terms of Sale;
- Approved companies holding a corporate account, only if you switched on visibility to companies, and only the companies whose job offers or applicant searches match your job searches; each company is responsible, as a separate controller, for what it does with the details it notes from your profile;
- The company you ask to talk to, or whose request you accept, which then sees your profile, contact details included; and, for a company, the job seeker it talks to, who sees its name, website, description and the offer or search concerned;
- Competent authorities, where required by law or a valid legal request.
We do not sell your personal data. Where a recipient is located outside the European Economic Area, we rely on an adequacy decision or on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, and you may request a copy of the relevant safeguard by contacting us.
Visibility to companies
Visibility to companies is off by default. When you switch it on, every approved company whose job offer or applicant search matches one of your job searches sees your profile as described above, and can contact you about that job. Companies only see job seekers who chose to be visible, and must use their details only for that purpose (Section 5). Each time a company opens a profile, we keep a record of it. When you switch the option off, or delete your account, no company sees your profile any more; we cannot erase what a company already noted, but you can exercise your rights directly with that company.
Messaging
Messages in the inbox are encrypted end to end. When you set up your inbox, your browser creates a pair of keys; the private one is stored with us only after your browser has encrypted it with a messaging passphrase that you choose and that we never receive. Without that passphrase, neither we nor anyone who obtained our data can read your messages. We therefore cannot recover them if you forget it: you can set up a new passphrase, but the messages you had can then no longer be read on your account. Each conversation shows a security code that you can compare with the person you talk to, to check that nobody stands between you.
How long we keep your data
- Account and profile data: for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account (Section 15), it is permanently deleted 7 days after your request, with all its data; an account you have not deleted is deleted or anonymised 3 years after your last activity;
- Contact requests and messages: for as long as both accounts in the conversation exist. Deleting your account, or a Scout deleting the job seeker concerned, deletes the conversation and its messages for both sides;
- Text submitted for AI-assisted extraction: not retained by us beyond what is needed to return the result to your profile, subject to standard operational logs kept for a limited security period;
- Details typed without an account: not stored; discarded once the document has been returned;
- Generated resumes and cover letters: permanently deleted 30 days after they are generated;
- Billing records: your purchase history is deleted with your account. The record of each payment that French commercial and tax law requires to be kept for 10 years is held by our payment provider, Stripe;
- Connection/security logs: up to 12 months.
- Audience-measurement data: raw visit data is deleted after 13 months; only aggregated statistics, which do not relate to any individual, are kept longer.
Your rights
Subject to the conditions set out in the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, and port your data, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent (without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal). You may also define directives on the fate of your data after your death, in accordance with French law.
To exercise these rights, contact us at support@mojoboto.com. You can also erase your account and all its data yourself, at any time, from your account settings (see Section 15). We will respond within one month, extendable to three months for complex requests. If you consider that your rights have not been respected, you may lodge a complaint with the CNIL (Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés), 3 Place de Fontenoy, 75007 Paris, France, cnil.fr.
Automated decision-making
We do not use your data for any decision that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you based solely on automated processing without human review. AI-assisted extraction results are suggestions that you must review and confirm before they are saved.
13. Cookies, Local Storage and Audience Measurement
We use technical cookies and browser local storage that are strictly necessary to operate the Service: maintaining your authenticated session, protecting forms against cross-site request forgery, and remembering your interface preferences (display language, sidebar state, dark mode, AI mode) and your audience-measurement choice. These do not require consent under Article 82 of the French Data Protection Act, as they are strictly necessary to a service you requested.
We measure the audience of the Service with Matomo, an analytics tool we host ourselves on our own infrastructure in France. It sets no cookie, does not identify you, is not used for advertising, does not follow you across other websites, and its data is shared with no one. It is configured according to the CNIL's guidance on audience measurement, under which this processing is exempt from prior consent under Article 82 of the French Data Protection Act.
You may object to this measurement at any time: with the switch below, from the notice shown on your first visit, or from your account settings. Your choice is stored in this browser's local storage, so it applies to this browser only and must be made again if you clear your browsing data or use another browser or device.
14. Data Security
We apply technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, including encryption of data in transit, access controls limiting staff access to what is necessary, and hosting with a provider established in France. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
15. Term, Termination and Account Deletion
These Terms apply for as long as you use the Service. You can delete your account at any time from your account settings (“Delete my account”).
- The account is disabled immediately: you are signed out on every device, and until the deletion takes effect nothing can be done with it except cancelling the deletion. The anonymised resumes it generated no longer reveal your details to anyone, and we stop sending it reminders.
- It is permanently deleted 7 days after your request, together with all its data: profiles, generated documents, templates, drafts, analyses, job searches, job applications and dismissed offers, purchase history and remaining Credits. Your job searches and their matches are deleted from our job-matching service at the same time.
- Until then, you can cancel the deletion by signing in and cancelling it in your account settings; your account is then restored exactly as it was.
- We email you when the deletion is scheduled and once it has been carried out.
- Once deleted, your data cannot be recovered. Only our connection and security logs are kept, for the period given in Section 12, and the payment records our payment provider keeps (Section 12). Signing in again with the same email address afterwards creates a new, empty account.
Deleting your account does not entitle you to a refund of unused Credits except as provided in our Terms of Sale. You may also ask us to delete your account through the contact form on our Support page or by emailing support@mojoboto.com. We may suspend or terminate your account for material breach of these Terms, with notice where reasonably possible.
16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by French law. If you are acting as a consumer, mandatory protections of the law of your country of residence within the European Union, if more favourable, are unaffected. Disputes will be submitted to the competent French courts, subject to the mandatory jurisdiction rules applicable to consumers.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Service or applicable law. We will notify you of material changes (for example, by email or an in-app notice) before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
18. Contact
For any question about these Terms, or about the protection of your personal data, contact us at support@mojoboto.com.
